I have template that I made in Dreamweaver, that will update each page on my site to look the same. But for some reason it's just not updating them! Here is part of the log that I get at the end:

files examined: 36
files updated: 0
files which could not be updated: 0
total time: (0:00:00)

At the top of each page there is the following code to link it to the template:

<!-- InstanceBegin template="/Templates/index.dwt" codeOutsideHTMLIsLocked="false" -->

Can anyone see any problems with it? As I've made sure that the files exist and are named correctly.

Also, if I detatch a page from the template, and re-attatch it, it works! Even though all the code stays the same??

I've just discovered, that the reason they werent updating was because i was changing the text that is displayed in the editable region.

What I have is an editable region called 'banner', but I need to set the default so that it doesn't display the text automatically, otherwise Ill have to go through every page and remove it!

Does anyone know of a way?

If you want it to be part of the template but not necessarily show on every page unliess you want it to, enclose it in comment tags.
