Hi
I am new in web design, and I'm asking about a version of Dreamweaver that can be used for languages written from Right to Left ( Arabic, Hebrew..);
Does such a version exist?
I want to create a site that is bi-lingual( Arabic? English), that is, you can read the English version,then/or go to the Arabic version.
Which Dreamweaver version is the right one?
Can anybody help.....

Thanks

Thanks Chris

just another question if you can help me, it is about the Dreamweaver program itself; do you think it is just one Dreamweaaaver standerd version that fits all? that is I just get the standerd Dreamweaver and create the English version of the website, then change the writing direction and make it R-to-L ,and re-create the site in Arabic? with the same program, but just swiching to an Arabic keyboard?

thanks

Can't speak from experience as Arabic is like a foreign language to me (pun definitely intended )
But I would say if your machine is set to handle Arabic and English languages, switching between the two should be ok.
Make sure that you set the correct character set for the site pages so User Agents know how to display the characters.

Thank you Chris
I think I should learn more about web design and HTML(in one language only-English), then I can find more about the other language!
I just do not know which program/Dreamweaver to get?

So far as I am aware it's not Dreamweaver itself that would be the problem. Like chrishirst said, you would use direction: rtl; in your CSS and you'll have to look up the charset designation for Arabic to declare in your HTML. You would do the same things no matter what editor you use.

Hi serandfae

thanks a lot, O.K. Now I understand that you just get a standard program(say DW), then you change the writing direction when you want to write from R-To-L......:
I have another question please:
What about the Fonts in the other language(Arabic)?
Will I be able to manipulate it? say keep changing Fonts, or other elements?

regards

Hi chris
Thanks a lot for your help. Now I can really start learning web design aiming to build the bi-lingual site ASAP

Here are my steps:
-Download NVU as it is free(and forget about DW).
-Get involved in NVU and hopes everythig goes well.
-Learn HTML .
-Build the site in English.
-Go To the Arabic version with all it's requirements and adjustments.
-Create the Arabic version.
-Manage the bi-lingual website!

One last thing I have to say, is this Forum is the only forum that I got advice and support from,
Thanks guys

zikko
