Has anyone made, or does any one know of, a check list for determining whether you've crossed all your t's and dotted your i's on a web site? Things like: "Every page has a helpful title." "Meta data is filled out accurately." "Text resizes gracefully without breaking the design." "Check for design flaws in various browsers." "User-submitted text has been properly escaped."

Would be very helpful! I've done a Google search, and while I've found a couple useful sites, I haven't found anything like what a checklist for making sure a site is production-ready looks like.

I think people make lists like that internally for their own use. The hard part is that each site is different and so they won't always need exactly the same thing.

However I think I know where there's something like the list you want. It'll be more of an seo related list. Hang on and I'll be right back...

...Ok I'm back. Did you miss me? I didn't find the post I was looking for, but I did find this Web Standards Checklist. I'm not sure if it's quite what you're looking for, but maybe it will help.

I also found this Site Design Checklist, which again probably won't have everything you want, but hopefully it helps.

Thanks very much, vangogh, that first link in particular was quite helpful and listed a number of things I hadn't thought of!

Glad I could help. One thing I forgot to suggest before is you might want to start building your own checklist. Brainstorm all the things you should do and then with each site you'll probably something to add to the list.

The list looks good. But I really won't believe that everyone or say above Good website designer would really follow it or maybe improvise it.
