Hi, I've been learning a lot over the last few years about web design.... jumping in head first and learning from trial and error. I've gotten just beyond the basics, creating a relatively complicated site in Dreamweaver, integrated a shopping cart... etc. Recently, I ran into a question that I'm stumped on. I need to design an ordering system for a few products I sell (custom woodwork), which have different styles, sizes and options which all effect the price... on top of this, I also need the ability to process multiple pieces in an order. I also need the order priced and placed into a checkout where customers can pay from. I know it is inevitable that it will be a lot of work, but was wondering what the simplest method of going about it is. I've seen and used ordering systems like this (one on a glass company's web site) and wondered if there was a program which would simplify the task for me. I don't think I am comfortable or ready for writing code from scratch... a little jump start and I should be able to figure it out.... just where do I start? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I would first go to that glass company's site who's cart you like and see if you can find out what cart system they're using. If it's a 'canned' system, you'll often find telltale clues in the code.

I dont see any info on that glass site that gives a hint of a specific cart. Than site is http://www.onedayglass.com. It looks like it was custom designed.... maybe i'm wrong, but that's similar to what I'm looking to do... just with a few more options.
