Hi,

I've been tasked to do a website for a photographer...

He's gave me a photoshop image of what he wants (but to big to upload on this forum ). I am just designing the template at the moment.

Here's what he wants.

White background, Name at the Top, Image in the middle with the smaller images to the right going up ad down when you hover the mouse over it, a thing light grey box going around the whole page. Between the main image and the grey line he wants it to be a little bit darker but not to much noticable...

Tell you what I'd be easier if I uploaded the image to the 'net and posted a link wouldn't it

Won't be long and I can explain it

Thanks,

And here's the link to the template (so far) - click here.

The trouble I'm having is putting that light grey box around the site...

Pretty much what he said.

It would be a lot more aesthetically pleasing and you'd have more design control if you used CSS. No offense, but your template so far looks vanilla compared to the sample he wants.

It doesn't require a lot of knowledge of CSS to duplicate a site like that. If you have DW then I think there is even a CSS template for a photo album very similar to that one.

I hope that helps.

Yup, that would be a snap (well, almost) using CSS and no tables.

Ack! Tables! The only thing they're there for is to make your job more difficult.

Why not just find a similar looking script and use that?--!

It still looks vanilla. Maybe instead of using text for the headline make it an image and spice it up a little? That would affect your SEO but would make the site look better. Sacrafice one for the other if you're not willing to learn basic CSS.

The best way to achive this would be with flash, maybe with a combination of javascript.

This looks pretty good.

http://www.flashden.net/item/dynamic...ling-menu/1248

It does cost $5.00 -- not much, but if you're willing to buy it then i'll help you implement it.
