Hello to all

So I working on a website and I am looking to be able to have my visitors find a business close to them. I have looked at the Google maps, yet is there a better solution?

I actually do not even need a fancy service, mainly a script for driving directions to a bowling alley closest to there home.

I got the idea from this site.

http://www.gobowling.us/FAC/Search.asp

If you notice there is a banner script with the search box and also one in the middle of the page.

I am not trying to be a copy cat, yet it is a great idea so I would like to have something like that too.

Thank you so much in advance for your time and trouble

I just use the free form from MapQuest on my sites. You drop the form code into your page as is.

Google Maps is the solution I'd use...if you don't use their geocoding. In Canada, it's usually about half a block off or more, I've found. What I do is get the rough coordinates from the map and then drag the icon to the spot where it actually is, and record those coordinates as the actual point.

Mind you, I haven't used it for driving directions, yet.

I have done some work with GoogleMaps-- see the dining and travel page-- on my news service. I used Java [servlet] for this tool and can add any bells and whistles needed.
