I've been charged as part of a team creating an in house website at my company. We have to use Frontpage 2000 or a free web editor.

THe boss wants a site where employees who have no html experience can create simple pages in word.

I'm sorry, that sucks.

Why not just create it in word then.

That sounds stupid. Tell him to do it. See how well he can do it. I tried doing it in word and it looked like a...... Well lets just say it looked bad. Whats the free editor? You can find some good ones here:
www.snapfiles.com
then got to freeware. It has different categories. Go around to find DHE Editor. I use it sometimes. But mainly FP.

Neva thought about creating sites in word...

If they can use Word then Frontpage is basically the same and shouldn't be hard if you teach them the basics...

Also creating sites in Word wouldnt look very professional at all and would be much easier using FP

Although this limits the design cability and just plainly sucks, you can export to HTML from word, so that's probobly what the boss is thinking. Again tell the boss this is a bad idea.

If you have employees who have no HTML experiance, FrontPage 2000 is just as easy to use as Word. However, if this is not an option, it is very easy to import Word webpages onto a server with FrontPage extensions and then link them to your website.
