Hi all,

Need some help, I have a Web site I need to design what is part of a course I am doing. And need to get some feedback on the site. The link is www.ebookcabi.net and if you could spare five mins and answer these question many thanks..

Q1. What do you think of the colour scheme?
Q2. Do you think the site is laid out well?
Q3 Do you think the site will be easy to navigate?
Q4 is there anything you would change about the website?
Q5 do you think the information on this site will be helpful?

1 - color scheme is ok, not obnoxious
2 - reasonably well, yes.
3 - appears to be
4 - the 'logo' is a horrible font, not all that readable and the "cabi.net" is clever but the .net part is difficult to read.
The thumbnail graphics look fairly rough, many are just not clear
- your code - -it's a mess, you have the <link> in the wrong place, no doctype, needs validation and lose the tables for the layout.
- rather than a direct download link, a larger preview of the book would be beneficial. The thumbnails aren't clear enough to be all that helpful, and I'd rather know what it is I'm downloading FIRST.
5 - yes

As far as visual elements goes, here are my ideas:
  • try making a clearer banner - hard to read title
  • pure white background - not grey
  • arial font for the left menu
  • use white font on the blue background results headers
  • removing the 1" page padding at top of page
Nice work. The next step after learning visual elements will probably be to learn CSS and more efficient coding, with use of DIVs and less tables and inline CSS styles. And to learn to make some nicer banners in photoshop.
