The title is misleading, I don't need the site redesigned, I need someone who can speak to web browsers and communicate my design. I need a translator. I've needed one before for English to Spanish. Now I need English to Firefox.
The design for
http://www.BetterStream.com is not the design I chose, but the design that happened when I tried to execute the design in my mind with just tables. Orite, I'll demystify my art: all I do is drag layers and tables around. I could conceive the greatest website of all time, I just couldn't code my name on an icy blue button. I only speak one language and I speak it very well: english.
I'm tired of the professional sites like
www.MojoHD.com, webmasters love them because they're so "perfect", but perfect doesn't necessarily sell.
There was a Coke ad that won awards, people loved it, but it didn't get anyone to drink Coke so they wasted millions. I want a bad design done well. There's something called the Broca region of the brain, people discount what they see all the time. Professional design is a staple of top websites, so people don't care -- we would say they are spoiled. I say they are looking for more.
My original goal was to have each video on a separate page for search engines, instead of one compressed flash box playing them all. I sort of modeled off the raw essence of comedy central's tables-for-different-shows thing. But I want compartementalized pages, complete with a comments section and audio comments section and a video comments section, the latter being the least important. Each section, each character, each video is a life of it's own. BetterStream will eventually be a network, get involved now.
Don't worry about the content, that's being revised too.
By the way, I invented audio blogging, I just never told anyone.
Oh, and I'm not a webmaster. If that wasn't clear.
Thanks,
Ben
