I take it most of you know what this is. But, for those unaware, its an open source program designed to mimic wikipedia's anybody-can-edit-it article system. Its got a good set of tools. But it seems a bit impracticle. For example, there isn't any type of password protection. If there were, then staff could edit their own articles and things like that. But, without it, anybody can edit anything. So unless you're cloning that site, is it ever practicle?

It's actually good as a anybody-can-edit-it article system. If one definition need more explanation, some others people will edit it for you... So, the whole directories are there... Your search of your curiousity is there...

Still dont quite understand it - could anyone put ANYTHING in there? Overwriting whats already there?

I believe so, since I don't recall there being a password system. I'll look into it. If not, Tikiwiki may offer more protection.

Makes it sort of ummmmm, useless then hehe. People will just put random stuff, why would people enjoy looking at that? Possibly a website for random articles by people or something? (random********.com) heh

See that the thing. I never got the point. But, if I've missed something, and it is password protected, then it could be good, allowing staff to do it directly.
