I would like some feedback from those of you who use either vB or Pun.

I am currently using Pun and find that it works well: it's fast, light and efficient, but I'm considering some of the features that come with vB. For instance, I'm considering sub-forums so that my current site does not require extensive scrolling up/down.

Anyway, please share your experiences with me.

TIA

Well, personally I'd go with vB if you can splash the cash, if not, MyBB has many of the features and is completley free with great support.

Well, MyBB is very good!
BUT vB is really the top dog in forum software...
So if you get vB you will have better support, higher security, less errors
And also vB is better coded
Or, Youcould give a version of IPB ago! Some of the old ones are free and you can make sub-forums with them!

But, It's your decision!

Sub-forums is one of the very features that I wanted. I'll have to check out all of my options, but may end up biting the bullet and treating myself to vB.

Thanks to all for the responses.

vBulletin is so much better in many ways. It's well worth every cent you pay for it. And I can definitely say this because I'm a vBulletin customer, and have absolutely no regrets on purchasing my owned license.

I would recommend vB [if you can afford it]
Bulletin is a powerful community solution that makes it easy to add a forum messaging system to your web site. vBulletin is developed using PHP and MySQL (a highly efficient open-source database). This solid back end technology allowed us to develop a product that is both amazingly fast, yet reassuringly stable.

Check out the features by clicking the below link:

If you're looking to move from PunBB, try SMF. It's fast, free, and a great overall product!

VB is basically the forum standard - you really should go with it if you expect your forum to be succesful. I've been using it for about 3-4 years now and it's just excellent, and is only getting better.
