What is the one thing that will make you hate a website? What is the one telltale sign that will make you leave as soon as you see it. Mine is more advertisements than any of the content. Maybe yours is popup ads? Or What is yours?

-misspelled words.
-tons of ads, having just a few don't bug me (see byethost's error page)
-tackyness
-pages titled "index" or something similar

The main thing for me is if I go onto a site and they have loads of popups or they have loads of ads

Then I will just close the window as the site much be crap

Also the graphics leaves a strong impression as well

Too many ads and pop-ups. I find it irritating.

I don't like those banners that jitter around like a poodle on crack. Gives me a headache.

But my biggest pet peeve is Music. I hate going to a site and listening to somebody else's favorite tune.

And it really irks me if the webmaster does not put in a button or control to turn it off.

Pop ups, bad design, no content, or dup content

Using tables when there is no need.

Flash Intros Suck

Flashing ads or animated gifs, frames that make it so I have to scroll two bars to read all the content, and poor colour contrasts that make my eyes hurt when I try to read the text.

I it is really ugly and obviously empty

Or there was this one site I was on the other day that drove me insane they had this ad that was smack the fly and it made a load buzzing sound and I was listening to music so I couldn't just mute and eventually it made me leave.

I think there is a lot of stuff that could turn people from a site, i personally hate pop-ups and any kind of music or noise that starts automatically.

To many ads, bad design, etc.

I don't like when sites have excessive flash advertisements that repeat animation. Especially on a site that has a flash game and the game slows down every time the ad does something wild ( on my laptop, my pc can handle it fine ).

Once, I read the interesting column while the flashing banner interferes me. I immediately closed browser. :thumbdown:

Pop ups!

Pop ups, ads, low quality content (spelling, grammar mistakes), awful graphics, sound/music, animated stuff (huge Flash banners)..and something I'll remember immediately when I see it in a dark corner

P.S. oh yes. Small text (6-8px) should be automatically be increased to 10-12px. 12px san-serif, yum.
