Hi All,
I'm a new member looking for a solution to a nagging problem. One of my websites (www.negevdirect.com) does not appear to be "globally updating" when I ftp updated pages to my web host. I have recently updated almost all of the pages with updated dates, copyright info, descriptions, prices, etc. and not everyone can see my updated information. I see things just fine and didn't realize there was a problem until I heard from a few clients. Several clients appear to be able to only see the older 2003 pages, regardless of rebooting, browser refreshing, or anything else I suggested.
I've had the suggestion that it may be related to a "proxy server" issue and how often it is coming to my site for a "true" refresh, and that I may need to have some code in my page to prevent this.
I hope this makes sense and that someone can offer some assistance, as I've kind of reached a stone wall in my solution search.
Thanks in advance.
Ray

Hi Skip,
Thanks for the quick reply. I hadn't seen the Pragma solution before, but I'm just trying to implement the "expires" metatag option on a few of the pages today.

As near as my limited brain can tell, this problem HAS to be caused either by the caching/refreshing options set by the users browser, by the users isp's server configuration, or possibly a combination of the two. Is this a correct analysis?

Thanks again for your help.

Your analysis is probably right. Although that can be bipassed - sites like Msn.com an Yahoo.com take advantage of the bipass.
