I just read a thread (earnersforum.com/showthread.php?t=11259) which asked what the best SEO friendly CMS system is and was very disappointed with the responses. Apparently there are no CMS systems that are very robust or customizable.

My question is, if someone offered to build you the ultimate CMS, what would you want included in it? What would it look like?

Here's an example...

I would want:
  • The template custimization of Django Ellington (ellingtoncms.com)
  • The SEO friendly URL structure of Django Ellington
  • The keyword crosslinking of inform.com

What would you want?

...also:
  • User comments available on every type of content.
I'll shut up for now... ;-)

I'd probably want something really small, light weight and with a one-file template system. I couldn't find one so I made one myself.

I'd take Notepad ++ anyday. Much better than notepad.

I downloaded Notepad++ and am going to use it instead of Notepad for coding php. The syntax highlighting and line numbers will help in debugging. But I'm not sure if it'll help for HTML. Maybe if you didn't know HTML very well, but otherwise I don't think it would make much of difference.

Thanks for telling me about Notepad++, BTW.

I tried Joomla once. It definitely has its pluses, such as a nice administrator interface, but for most of my projects it is overbloated and I really don't like their URL structure.
