Hello everyone. First time poster here. I am looking for a program that will allow my clients to update the CONTENT on the website without having to know any HTML. Something they can log into from there computer and just update certain pages.

Free would be best (please recommend someone) but if you only know paid ones, then also please recommend away.

Hey! I'm in the same boat. I want to create a way for my clients to easily edit the website templates I provide for them. I've thought about using Macromedia Contribute but I don't know exactly how it works. At the moment I have to provide awkward detailed instructions on how to edit html! Somone once said that CSS is simple to edit but I don't know how to use it.

If anyone else has any suggestions then I'd also like to know!

I've got quite a few clients using contribute. If the client knows how to use Microsoft Word, they can use Contribute. The developer should also have a copy so they can set user access/restrictions and templates. Once I have them set up, I generate a contribute "key" to send the client which contains all the connection information (they don't need to know the server name, username, password, etc), and they're ready to go.

For clients who have more than one remote staff member (different office locations, therefore unable to share a copy), it's more cost effect to install a solution on the server/website itself. Interspire has a good product called WebEdit that works very similar to Contribute: http://www.interspire.com/webedit/

As far as cost, I let the client know up front that if they want to be able to edit their own pages, there will be additional software charges (either the server based software or their own expense of Contribute). I haven't had a client bulk at the extra price yet when they look at the overall benefits.

I have designed custom web software to allow for WYSIWYG editing from a web page. The entire application is database driven and is very good at what it was designed to do. I don't have the offical release ready yet, but I use it for my site so if you want I can give you a full access tour. Just let me know.

Oh and my website is:
