Is this a bad idea to have a message board in an iframe?

It seems to be the easiest option since I use Dreamweaver templates and I don't think that the my phpbb coded message board would update with them... i would have to manually update it whenever i updated my header/footer for the rest of my site.

Anyone else ever have this issue?

iframes are depreciated in the latest xhtml strict DTD's.
iframes won't get your stuff indexed at all, and is horrible for SEO

Using dreamweaver is your first problem

phpbb has a built in template system.

draw up your deisgn, slice it, upload it, and paste the code block for each section into the right phpbb template part.

Thanks i thought iframes were not a good solution... my only problem is that when i have to update the template on my website ill have to manually update the header of the message board as well, but i guess thats the best option all things considered, thanks!

Using an iframe is about your worst bet.

You could update a div by its ID instead? Do some searches for ajax type stuff, I remember reading some articles touting ways to replace iframes.
