Which do you prefer and why?

Ex. Dreamweaver because it is cheaper.

Dreamweaver is WAY more expensive than CoffeeCup.

Dreamweaver costs more, but for a good reason. It's not just the Adobe brand name to it, it has a lot more features that CoffeeCup doesn't and it has gone through the whole testing process so it has much fewer bugs and is optimized for coding and design performance.

For a beginner - NEITHER should be used. Learn to code HTML and CSS by hand FIRST, then any tool such as DW becomes more effective.

All I would use either of them is a quick way to switch back and forth from coding to preview mode, so I guess coffecup since its free.

I prefer Dreamweaver for a few reasons.

I've been using it for years and it's what I learned with for the most part, it's a nice program to code in and very easy to use and become familiar with.

Although it's pretty exspensive that's not a huge problem to me.

100% for dreamweaver ... it`s much better and it leaves you much more freedom... CoffeeCup it`s easier but that`s not so important to me... I use dreamweaver for a ong time now and I got used to it but the main reason for wich I vote with dreamweaver it`s because you can do absolutly anything with dreamweaver, you just need the ideea ...

Absolutely agree. Once you have learnt the basics you can use any editor you want to get your desired results, whether it's a freebie or overpriced branded one. In the end it's not the software but the skills of the person using it.

I used both. Coffeecup is easy to use. However Dreamweaver is more powerful. That is why I prefer it.

I had a trial version of Dreamweaver on my PC but I never used any of it's features. Not even the preview so I saw no reason to continue using it.

The autocomplete stuff was nice but just means I end up relying on software slighty more than I'd like to.

Think I'll stick with Geany.

Dreamweaver, I used CC a looooong time ago for a very short period of time, nice but not as robust as DW.
