I am a beginning web designer using Dreamweaver MX 2004 for Mac. I have created a page using tables and a template I created in DW. I have used Safari, Firefox, and IE for Mac and the page looks good on all of those. The problem I am having is that the majority of people that will view the site will be using IE on PC's.

The actual problem I am having is on the left side of the screen there is a Grey button bar that is suppose to continue to the bottom of the screen and stay even with the main content area. On the PC's the grey area stops and doesn't extend like it does on the Mac side. Any help would be appreciated, so far this forum has been very helpful.

I gotta tell you, that 278KB header is HUGE, and takes way too long to load and I"m on a cable connection. I pity anyone on a slower connection. You should consider getting the size down by at least 1/2 that.

Thanks for the insight on the header. I went back and saved it as a GIF and cut the size in half. The quality isn't as good, but I think it looks good enough. Any suggestions about why the site looks different on a PC vs. the Mac?

Underneath the white ticker on the left side, there is a light grey background. That should continue to the bottom of the screen even with the main content area. It doesn't work with IE on PC's.

You can always do some testing with www.browsershots.org.
