I have recently switched to dreamweaver. My site is constructed with PHP... Yesturday I set up the FTP stuff to a remote server....... I also made an attempt to make a connection to my mysql database. I noticed that one of these actions has added some files on the server and now none of my php mail() functions are working. Does Dreamweaver somehow change the php.ini...... what did they add to my server? the error i am getting is.......

Warning: mail() has been disabled for security reasons

Any ideas as to what has happened?

Thanks, Bryan

Dreamweaver will not change the php.ini file unless you physically open the file from dreamweaver, change it and then save it.

The added files, I am guessing are lock files, you used the Site feature correct? I would switch the dreamweaver site to a straight ftp connection.

Was mail working before? I would ask your webhost why they had to disable this essential feature. Otherwise I would look into Imap
