I am trying to create a website with Dreamweaver 8 and would like to have a login system where there are multiple personal that I set up with designated user id's and passwords, and where I can designate what pages they can view. For example... Say I have 5 people.. I want to give Person 1 access to Folder A, B and C which contains many files; which he has full access too, no Person 2 only has access to Folders B and C and all the files in those exact folders. Now Person 3 can only access Folder C and its files. Person 4 can access Folders D, E, F, and G and person 5 can only access Folder G... and so on and so on. Now if anyone here knows what kind of system I am talking about and know of a site that can point me in the right direction.. and be a little on the straight forward side since I have not messed with web sites in 4 years now, it would be most helpful.

Dreamweaver only creates the HTML for the site. To have any kind of a dynamic system (like a login system), you have to code around the html with a server-side language like PHP or ASP. If you are running on a Windows server (iis) you'll probably want to use ASP or .NET, if you are running on linux (apache) you'll want to use PHP.

Once you know what language you're going to be coding in, google "php reference" or "asp reference" to get started, or start browsing the appropriate forum here to see examples.

I will be using ASP so there are good places in this forum? hmm time to go hunting.. thanx for the help
