What is the best program to rip dvd's and place them in a flash format (youtube) style on the web?

I have a collection of dvd's that I want to publish all a little over an hour long. What size should they be for easy downloading/streaming?

ImTOO DVD Ripper Platinum is a great program that can easily rip dvd into any format you wish. DVD to ANY FORMAT.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it is compatible with mac.

Another one is HandBrake. That is compatible with mac but I have no experience of it. But it is freeware whereas ImTOO is licensed.

One last one is probably one of the easiest to use, considering it is free. DVDShrink is a freeware program for Windows (if you can get to a Windows machine) which is easy to use and does a great job. As well as ripping DVDs, it can shrink them to a smaller size, which would be ideal for streaming.

Overall, I'd recommend you get ImTOO DVD Ripper Platinum 4 as it is the best as the easiest I have used. It will do a great job of shrinking your huge DVDs into smaller files. FLVs are usually the smallest file size I have seen.

Oh, I just remebered, Cyberlink PowerDirector 5 is a video editing program and is fantastic but you can actually save the result file (you don't HAVE to edit it) into a streaming format. That does it easily and you don't have to think about specific formats. It can also publish a file straight to YouTube.

Hope this helped out, happy to answer any questions.

not looking for a player... have that taken care of with flash.

is 110mb to large to have as a progressive download for a video?
I know on google, they let you upload up to 100 mb, so it cant be too bad.

mplayer contains mencoder, which is what I was recommending you.
And a dvd in 110 Mb !?

Man, a DVD is 4Gb compressed (at least, it can go up to 9Gb), it would be a seiously reduced quality to fit it in 110 Mb.
For something decent, don't go under 900Mb.
