I've got a site over at www.pokerisrigged.com and as you can see... The banner is terribly sucky! I've looked into how to change it but it requires cutting images into several parts.

Does anyone know of a guide or have a guide that can help me to understand how to do this?

What image editing software are you using?

To be very general, what you should do is design the image as a whole to the size specifications you need. Then, when you are happy with the way it looks, you can cut it up into the pieces you need (ie: Left side, right side).
