Hi all,
I am working on upgrading a site that sells construction materials and wants to sell on line. Their host offers ecommerce but it links to another store site and I was hoping to set up a shopping cart within their existing site. Obviously this is not downloadable content so I need something that has an easy way to process orders and to retrieve these orders. Finally a service that includes a way to calculate shipping orders through UPS or FedEx would be great.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be the best service to do this? I am nowhere near capable of coding it myself and was hoping there is something out there that is easy to impliment.

You may want to take a look at E-Junkie which is a hosted solution and is very easy to implement, and is very economical: starting at $5/mo. E-Junkie, however does not do UPS or FedEx Calculation.

Also, E-Junkie's free shopping cart solution is FatFreeCart, which you might want to take a look at (but does require a bit more code savvy-ness)

Looks like a decent option but I always have a hard time trusting a site with so many spelling and grammar errors in it...

You may want to take a host with Fantastico, just a one click and you can have Oscommerce installed, this is one of the most popular ecommerce software with lots of mods and is comparatively easy to use.

Thanks Chad, my personal sites host offers osCommerce but when I glanced at it it seemed like everything was remotely hosted and not integrated into my site... maybe I just didnt look closely enough?

BDevil,

It should be hosted locally, if not you can Download it and install it. You just need PHP and MySQL which most hosts offer.

Sorry Chad maybe I didnt use the right terminology, what I meant was I am hoping to add their shopping cart and the ability to place items for sale into my current site as opposed to clicking over to their "shop" and doing any purchases there... did that make sence? My terminology sucks I know... thanks again for your repl!

I think what you are looking for is a Skin or Template for it? You can re-design the look of OSCommerce to how ever you want.
