Hey Guys,
Not sure if I've posted this in the right place. I'm sorry if I haven't.

I contracted with webtechlogo.com for a logo on two occasions. The first time, everything went well but the second time all of the sudden they disappeared. No returned emails or phone calls. Really bizarre.

So they essentially took my money and ran.

Anyone know of this company and any problems with it or if they're still in business?

I'm quite disappointed as they did such a good job the first time.

I thought perhaps this was a family owned business and there may be a family problem. This is understandable of course but they aren't even responding to emails or phone calls.

Thanks for any input!

Hope everyone is having a good day

Charlie

never heard of them or never heard anything about them sorry.

However one thing that is pretty odd is their robots meta tag is set to "nofollow" and "noindex" so they apperently do not want to be found in the search engines.

Here's the problem with these little companies on the net. You can't be too reliable.

I haven't heard of them and doubt if many have. I don't think you'll see your money again, though I hope you do.

In future, I advise you to get stuff done through communities like webmaster-talk.com .
Here there is a marketplace where you can get anything done. More importantly, there are various ways to separate the good from the bad (reputation, itrader rating etc.). Another advantage of this forum is that by holding graphic design contests, you can offer a prize (money) to whoever makes a graphic that you like. This way you get many graphics from different people so you can see everyone and their imagination and talent. Whereas, companies like the one you mentioned, show you ONE graphic that they made for you and don't let you tweak it too much.

Here you can PM the friendly people who will make the graphic to suit your needs.

So sorry that you got ripped off by some twisted person but hopefully I have given some good advice that will prevent such things in the future.

Thank you everyone for your responses. Today I finally heard back from the logo designer stating that he was sick. Ok, that is understandable but still no phone calls or emails from the many company and I've left about 5 messages. They've been pretty good at tweeking logos for me in the past but after this situation and what I've learned here, I'm not inclined to use their services again. Dissapointed because I thought I had found a reliable online company for once.

I'm not sure how to use webmaster-talk dot.com but I'll certainly get on and try. I have several more logos and two mmore website to be re-designed.

Thanks again!

Gail

How would I hold a logo design contest? I went to the market place and didn't see anything, although I most likely missed it

Thanks

Charlie

Yes, just follow FGU's link.

Then all you need to do is create a new thread. In this you should declare what you want the graphic to be. Just look at the examples already there. State the deadline for the graphic, its dimensions, color scheme, desired file types and the prize money.

It is very simple, but I think you need at least 20 posts to be able to create a thread in that section. This makes the section more secure, so when you're at 20 posts, you can start a contest.

Another tip is that you keep the prize money competitive. Don't set the prize money at a low value as you aren't going to get a response. Similarly, don't overspend. But I definitely recommend you do this method for every time you need a graphic, a logo, header etc. It's a chance to see everyone's version and you simply pick your choice. Best of all, you can get a good graphic without being hugely overcharged like some graphic designer websites.

Hope that explained it.

Well that was short lived. I heard from him, he said he was not feeling well but he said he would finish the logo still haven't heard back from them or the company. Geesh! Lesson learned. Not a whole lot of reliabily on the internet that's for sure and I've used some of the larger companies too!

I just want my product or my money back. I'm easy to deal with as well.

I give.

Well here's the conclusion. Never heard back from them, never got my logo. They are apparently headquartered the the Philippines per credit card processing company but the have a 619 area code number. Humm.. So any legal recourse was limited.

But they use 2co.check out which stated that they will refund my money in 7-10 days. I'll let you know if that happens.

In conclusion, you probably should stay clear of this logo company.
