I'm a freelance web designer and believe it or not - I don't know everything I've been working with companies and organizations for 2 years. And I always find it interesting when I ask them, "What is your biggest pet peeve when working with a web designer?" So, now I will ask you the same question... what is your biggest pet peeve when working with a web designer. Hopefully, this thread will not only help me grow in that area but, will also help other freelancers. Thanks in advanced for all input.

What kind of answers do you get from your clients when you ask that question?

I've received answers such as web designers response time. Either the designer takes on to many projects they forget who's who or they just simply forget about them completely. Or possibly they designer lost interest with them and moved on to something "bigger and better". I've also heard things like, "Well, the designer said I couldn't do it like that." When in reality they can.


One of the biggest pet peeves is the deadline. I will never forget what this lady told me... she wanted her design done on this date for some big event, I cant remember now. One month from the deadline / due date she received her website. The kicker to this story is she requested some items being changed before it goes public. The changes where NOT done. She waited a month over the deadline for a website she could have had before. Hopefully, I didn't lose you on the story it's alot of she said.

I'm a ferm believer of "your word is your bond". Contracts are of course nice to have doing freelance work for an individual or company.

It's always hard for me to get a solid freelance web designer. And not pull the stuff "The-Pixel" talked about. It's not only horrible and devastating to the client but it’s a poor reflection upon my company. My biggest "pet peeve" is when a designer says it will be done on this date and its not.
