I think Photoshop is a great choice for doing the design, but code it in ImageReady?? I've never even heard of that.

I wouldn't code things in ImageReady either. There's no one process you have to use, but I suspect most of us here design in Photoshop or Illustrator and then code by hand. That's my process at least. Others may use different graphics or image editing programs and some people may use something like DreamWeaver to start their code.

I prefer graphics program for design and hand coding for development where. I also tend to refine my designs a little as I code them.

my reasons for coding with image ready is mainly because I have very little CSS knowledge, I found this article, but could someone explain what will I end up with:

Step 1 - I design a layout
Step 2 - I code using image ready

is that it my template is now made or is there something else, what format will I end up with I assume I'll end up with a index.html page but having never coded a layout I'm not sure.

What you will end up with is garbage code. There are better, free solutions available, I'm sure. Try http://google.com if you aren't willing to learn a bit of coding, I'm sure there are WYSIWYG editors that you can use, that are available for free.

Hello,

You could always design the template yourself and get professionals to code it for you. I've always heard really great things about http://www.psd2html.com/

Nice design! Although the above post is obviously SPAM, having a professional lay-out that complex of a page is probably not a bad idea.

A crash course in HTML/CSS won't hurt: http://www.w3schools.com/, though I'm not sure that design is something you want to tackle on your first try, with any method. That will be a very nice page if it is done correctly, however.
