I know how to get regular old video into my webpage but it shows up with the windows media player video player. I have seen cool video players that don't look like windows media player with a cool border and cool buttons but how do I do this?

The most popular flash video player out there and easiest to configure and use on your website is the JW FLV Media Player. It's free to use.

.FLV, it rocks! But, .WMV can also be fun plus you can feed live video via your own pc with windows media encoder. You can do this with flash too but, you'd have to buy the software. Windows Media Encoder is free. You can also customize what the users sees as well as edit video clips with Windows Movie Maker, also free.

To edit, stream and serve FLV (Flash) it might just cost a little more.

I'm currently offering live feeds on my site via Windows Media Player (Just for Fun )

Aslo check this out http://cit.ucsf.edu/embedmedia/step1.php

I like both.

Thanks guys will check out all the links.

I have one question to the guy who is doing live streaming how do you do that? I mean I have been looking for a way to take the video of my computer as its coming from my xbox 360 and putting it on out website.

What I mean is I am in a clan and I bought this thing "PCTV TO GO HD WIRELESS BY PINNACLE" It connects to my tv and records my xbox 360 game play and then wireless with like a 3 second delay I can watch what is happening on my laptop screen and record if I want to.

I have been wondering if its possible to use my device to stream the video that my laptop currently is seeing and put on my website.

I have tried using the device before but for some reason some streaming sites don't recognize it as a camera.

I use Windows Media Encoder to serve the video. There are two different methods (push to and pull) which is documented at Microsoft.

Windows Media Encoder

I can actually stream live video right from my desk to MySpace. I'll bet not to many people are doing this lol!

As long as WME recognizes your video input as a device, you should be able to serve the video. (Push to a server or pull from your computer) Pull will only allow 4 connections unless you hack your registry to allow more.

pulling from your computer exposes your ip and pot your using so I would recommend using No-Ip or some other DNS mask to mask your actual IP address.

It's really simple to use.

Download WME: Free
Buy a domain name: $9.00
Buy No-Ip service: $24.00 a year
Point No-Ip to your ip and open port. (if it's behind a router it will take more configuring)

Start Windows Media Encoder, select the input and output settings and click encode.

Heres a little tutorial. I plan to add one to my site as well. (myspace code included)

Good Luck.
