Where to buy software?

Anyone recommend a good place to buy software? Some of the online software stores just seem a little sleezy. Most retailers like Office Depot or Best Buy seem to charge full retail.

Thanks,

You should look into open source. It's free!

Yeah, check out osliving.com. That will help you out in finding open source alternatives to whatever type of software you are seeking! Otherwise just do a google search for (software you are looking for) open source. You will almost always find an alternative!

Whatever you do, compare prices and quality. This will save you a lot of grief. Also, make sure that you are getting the software that has the particular function you want. For exmaple, I got Illustrator because I made the mistake of thinking it was hotter than Photoshop, but then I found out you can't really extract images with Illustrator, which is a key function I wanted. So, now I'm stuck with a 500 dollar program that I still need to learn, when I really needed Photoshop.

Take my advice!

there are many places on net to buy softwares. but only few of them are reliable. most of them are nothing but a way to steal your money. and its good to compare the prices before buying one

An alternative to Adobe Dreamweaver is a program called 'KompoZer' - it's freeware off download.com. It's excellent and I use it and best thing is it's only 20MB's so it saves you more space rather than installing DW.

Hope this helps
