I want to know how to completely design web sites. Right now I'm an advanced user in photoshop and know html like the back of my hand and a little bit about CSS but not much. I just got dreamweaver and flash and I'm trying to find some good tutorials on coding and uploading site templates. Anyone know any good tutorials/sites that'll help me out? I'd rather watch a video tutorial opposed to following through reading.

If you know HTML like the back of your hand, then you're half way there. Learn CSS so you know IT like the back of your hand and you'll have all you need to build a site.

Perhaps this will help take your designs from PS to web:
http://www.cssslicingguide.com

and this: http://www.subcide.com/tutorials/csslayout/

Check the stickies in the CSS forum for more resources.

Oh... and you posted at 2:15AM my time.. Central time in the US.. not many people up at that hour to answer your questions

You should be able to look through the Dreamweaver tutorials to get the basics of setting up a site and how to use Dreamweaver to FTP to the server. Photoshop may have some tutorials or Help within the program that can point you in the right direction also.

The way I learned how to design websites, and then later learning php...is not through the internet and internet guides.

My best advice, if you are serious about learning, is to goto your local bookstore and look for HTML books. Try to find an appropiately sized book, thick doesn't mean it is good, and look through it at the content. Check to make sure it has ALOT of content such as example tutorials, how to's, etc..

Also check the author and publisher for it, and make sure it's from a respectable author that has many years in the field.

I would suggest just browsing through the Dream weaver tutorials and spending your time getting to know CSS like the back of your hand too. Good luck!

Search engine crawlers can't reply to threads, they can only read them.

I am just learning the basics. Basically I would find something I liked on a web site, look at the HTML code on it and try and duplicate it on my site.

If I can afford Photoshop one day then I'll try doing the same thing as I did with HTML, but for graphics.

There is a great site that has a ton of different tutorials. http://www.tutorialized.com

Another thing to do is get into forums on Dreamweaver and Photoshop and such. Also the help menu in each program gives better tutorials than in the past. And last it is good to look for screencast on YouTube. Hope this helps.
