Im looking to switch my site to joomla. Right now it is a simple html site, and i want to make it more interactive and dynamic. I know very little about joomla - how does it handle meta tags/ keywords, and when my site is a fully joomla site, will it stay in its current pr in google?

Yes it handles meta tags, however before switching over and commiting yourself I would suggest reading the Joomla documentation thoroughly to understand what it does and how it does it. Also browse through their user forums to see what issues people have with it. All this will give you a better understanding of it's capabilities and weak points.

The chances are you *might* lose your "PR" but if you keep the content as near as identical as you can, and put in relevent 301 redirects to the new URL's, your PR should gradually be reinstated within a short amount of time.

Changing to a CMS nearly always results in a temporary loss of search engine value but so long as your content quality is good there's not usually any major problems long term.

I'm no SEO expert but that's how I see it!
