sorry guys for the simple question, but Im very new to this. Im currently creating my own website. Im using Corel Draw X4 to create images and then exporting them and putting into Dreamweaver. So far so good, but im still on my index page...

something has come up that I do not know how to get around.

How do I put an image into dreamweaver, then type text ontop of the image? I do not want to create the text inside the image. I want to type it in Dreamweaver and put ontop so search engines, etc find that text... does this make sense?

btw, i know no code. Im in the design portion of DW

BTW, it is silly to use Dreamweaver without learning some code first.

If you want text OVER an image, particularly if that image is part of the design, you just put the image in as a background in the CSS.

Ditto what Wayfarer said though. You need to learn HTML and CSS. Dreamweaver can NOT do it all !

Hey, You could always us a floating text box. I am not saying its teh best thing to do, but it worked for me once.

ok, i tried this floating text and it worked, well sorta..... when I preview it in my browser and I stretch my browser to different sizes, the text moves. But the images do not?

any ideas?

you need to get rid of the Table for starters thats holding the images...

make a full website absolute DIV and then other relative DIV's which will move together as you resize your browser keeping everything 'glued' together :-)

Use "Draw Layer" to create a layer for the text and park it over the image. Make sure the "Z" value for the text layer is larger than that for the image, so it will display on top

Set your image as a background first.
