Hello there guys. I just wanted to see if I can find soneone to point me in the right direction here. I know nothind, nada, zero... about web design and would like to learn a little. I have dreamweaver, photoshop, illustrator and etc... I think good enough tools to come with with a decent site. Dreamweaver does most of the coding for what I undersdtand but I would like to learn everything from scratch if at all possible. Can any of you guys point me in the right direction to learn some coding or at least the basics of this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I suggest you to begin with HTML, then learn some CSS (do not focus on CSS a lot, because browsers in the end will do whatever they want).
We could say thats just web design, the appearance of the web.
Then go ahead with Javascript language, learn at least some basics because you will find it very useful.
If you would still want to go further, I would suggest you learn PHP as the server-side language and MySQL as the database management system.
With all that you can develop almost everything you want

What do you think about Dreamweaver. Should I use it or maybe just ignore it for now...

Dreamweaver's fine to use, but don't rely solely on the WYSIWYG functions. Go to w3cschools.com and take some free basic tutorials in at least HTML and CSS, and use the split code/layout view so you can see what's going on. As you learn the code basics you'll begin to see why it is you should do it that way. Absolutely DO NOT WAIT to learn the code part; it is essential to get the full benefit of using DW. To do otherwise is rather like trying to use InDesign with no knowledge of how books and magazines are laid out and printed, or CAD with no prior drafting experience.

Great advice already given by serandfae and others - last thought: don't try to build wikipedia on your first go. Lay out a simple HTML site with a few pages and make it work correctly first. Then move on to the next level. You'll learn a lot more building a well designed 5 page site that functions correctly than a 25 page site with lots of attempted plugins that works terribly.
