Okay, i can't decide between Joomla and WordPress.

At the end of the day I think for me its going to boil down to how easy is it to make templates??

So yeah, are there any restrictions to making the templates on either?
Is one easier than the other?
What do i do differently with making the templates through the CMS than to if i was to make the website without the CMS?

thanks in advance.

There are scads and scads of free templates for both systems, with plenty of tutorials and such for making your own.

Okay, i dont want a pre-made free template, i want to make my own.
But thanks for the info about the tutorials

However does anyone with experience with either CMS (im not saying you haven't Lady) have an opinion on wether they're easy enough to do?

I totally depends on what you're trying to do. Joomla and Wordpress are completely different. Wordpress is primarily a web-publishing platform, for making a site that is focused around a blog. For doing that, there is nothing better.

Joomla is basically an easy to use, all-around content management system. I don't build sites in it, because it is a little too generic in its functionality for me, but for common sites it is fine.

I say Joomla. I just finished http://www.tuffnuff.net with Joomla.

I like Joomla much more. I think it is easier to change the themes and customize etc...
