Hi There,

I gravitated to this forum because I was hoping someone could help find a new chat room for a website I want to build.

At the moment I have a chat room http://www.kbtrading.org/chat/ and a forum http://www.kbtrading.org/forum/ that I want to somehow weave together in a single website I will name scalpoholics.com

The room and forum are centred around forex trading, in particular, "scalping", which is a short time frame method of forex trading.

My idea is to embed the chat room on the front page of the new site and then give people the ability to join in and detach the chat room if they wish. The chat room I already have is ok, but I don't think I will be able to use it to do what I want to do.

My problem is this; I need this chat applet to be able to upload images as well, specifically in the .gif format, as that is what most charting programs generate. It will need to allow the user to just press "browse" and search their local machine and then upload the image to the chat in the form of a link that then opens in a new browser window or as an image in the room itself. I don't want the members to have to use tinypic or something like that to post images.

I would like this program or applet to reside on the local server where the website and all the images will be as well.

I don't need this to be a free script or applet etc, but it would be nice if it was at a reasonable price.

I have searched google for ages and indeed done a search on this forum but have not found anything that suits.

If someone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

This seems like a great forum and I will be searching it regularly for tips on building my new site.

Cheers,

Dean

For real? You did gravitate? A little morning humor

On to your question:

Just upload your forum to the new site name, and you can embed a chat into it easily. You can try numerous chat softwares like:

Thanks for that.

Tried it out but like all the others I have tried there does not seem to be an ability to upload .gif images which was my main concern.

The only one I have come across so far is cutechat

http://cutesoft.net/ASP.NET+Chat/default.aspx

but its a bit pricey.

Cheers,

Dean
