Hi all, I currently have an idea for a fashion/style related social network. I have very little design knowledge as far as markup language goes and have had trouble finding information that suites what I am trying to do. After scouring the net and viewing the most popular fashion/style related SN's I have an idea of what I would prefer for my own if possible.
Basic functions similar to Myspace or Facebook such as profiles, friends, inbox, pictures, videos, html embedding for profile customization, groups, boards/forums, search, browse, and so on. However being fashion related I would also like to incorporate e-commerce as well. Other fashion SNS allow users to view clothing articles through browse or search and then choose to purchase these items by linking them to either the brands site for direct purshase or to an alternative site for purchase such as amazon or ebay. I would like to know if these brands have a partnership with the sns to promote their products as well as direct consumers to their site for purchase. Some sites have full listings of 60+ brands products on their site and then users are directed to the brands site for purchase so I assume there is a legal contract involved for these sites to display their clothing products. Is this something I could do as well? Sorry for the lengthy post, its 1 question I have out of tons. I really believe that if I can implement all my ideas and functions for my site, that it would become very popular once I build traffic and a solid user base. Any info much appreciated, thanks.  |
