My problem is this.... I have hired someone to assemble my webpage from a design I’ve created. The webmaster is not capable of linking these two pages together as the font size on the home page (IT’S AUTHENTIC, RELEASES and NEWS) cannot be reduced on page 2 - he confirms it is not possible to replace the large links with the smaller ones on the second page. Is this true? I’ve seen many sites with different font sizes for tabs. He also referred me to a site http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/s...nel_sample.htm which doesn’t allow for my website to function based on the direction from adobe.

There must be another way, please HELP?!

I'm confused...

Firstly, is he saying you can't make the font size smaller? Of course he can...
send a link to your website online, an image won't suffice..

Well, you're not showing us any standard font, do you want us to just guess that you might be using Flash, or a graphic, or what? The link you provided doesn't seem to have anything to do with what you showed us.

You can't just use any font and expect that everyone in the world will have them installed. If you don't use a very common font (Arial, Verdana, Times New Roman, Georgia, Impact) chances are it won't show up on many computers.

It is possible, however, to use any image as a link to anything, and images can be scaled however you like them. If I was you, I would hire someone who knows what they are doing, because if he or she is relying on Spry, chances are you are dealing with someone inexperienced, not a seasoned professional.

You'll need to show us some code (or even better, a link to the pages in question), of we are really going to be able to help you.

You just need to make the images smaller?? If he is saying he can't make those smaller, then that's lazyness frankly.. I truly hope you didn't pay someone to create this?!

Ok, those are just images, which means they can just be edited down. You should know, however, that your webmaster is using a very proprietary, point and click method via Dreamweaver, to create your site, which means they are not very technically proficient, and probably don't know a lot of answers, and so fall back on such silliness as "it can't be done". Since they aren't actually coding any of this themselves, it isn't surprising that they can't figure out how to make Dreamweaver behave. This is a common problem when making sites this way, because if anything goes wrong, what to do?

There isn't much else I can say beyond that, except to say that it is possible to make any font changes or do pretty much anything you could reasonably want with that page, since it isn't terribly complex. Someone like me, however, would throw all the code away and start anew. I suggest you find a good coder and outsource it: http://odesk.com

You need to be fairly careful of these 'webmasters', he is clearly taking advantage of your lack of knowledge..

I have to agree, 100% with the above. If you paid him money, you need to ask for a refund. I also have to say that the DW "method" for the mouseover effect is not necessary, it can be done with CSS w/o ANY scripting.

I'll also add that using IMAGES for your navigation is VERY bad for search engines and accessibility - neither of which can READ an image.

There IS a way to use non-standard fonts, even the one used there, it's called sIFR and it works very well indeed.
