Im not sure what you are asking. You mean getting files from your PC to your site? You would need an ftp. I recommend against using the Dreamweaver one and using Ipswitch intead. Now, if you are saying you need to get your site files back to your PC (which shouldn't be a problem since any file on your site would have had to have been on your PC in the first place, unless you deleted them), you can just copy the files from the server back to your computer in the same exact order.

Again,

I am quite unsure what you are meaning. The common question is "How do I get my files onto my server"

With Dreamweaver, you have many options. You can define a site where all files will be saved within that folder. You will then use an FTP Client (Cute FTP Being the best) to upload files from that folder to the site. The same can be done in reverse by clicking on a folder in cute ftp when in the server window and it will download the file to your local folder.

If you do not define a site, then you can still store all files for a certain domain in one folder aslong as you create it manually. You can then tell your ftp client that this is the local folder in which you will upload from, which in turn will be the immediate download path if you choose to download a server file.

Steve.

sorry to jump in here, but my Q is similar.

I lost my local files, so I want to retrieve the entire site from my server back to my PC.
I can do that though FTP, but is there an automated way through dreamweaver to do that, so when it is back, its already configured locally as a site?

'import' seems to do a lousy job.

Thank you.
