How much should this website cost me?

Please look at this site and let me know how much it should have cost me:
http://thefloribunda.com/
The photos was taken by my own photographer and given to the web designer. The photos had been photoshoped but not resized for the website.
The web designer created the website and used the photos and floor plans that we supplied her with.
My question is, what is a fair price for what she did?
Thanks

That's a very simple website. I'd say around $120. Maybe less.

As the owner of a fair sized web design/programming company I would say the answer is not always that simple. If you gave her all the images, text and a single set of instructions and she spent say 2-3 days doing the design I would say yes, a few hundred dollars may be a fair price. If she did say 4 different designs that were rejected, waited weeks to get approvals, sent loads of emails and made tons of phone calls trying to get answers to simple questions and finally got a design approved, then the "final" design was modified say 20 times, I think $1,000 might be closer to the mark. I have no idea what really happened but the real answer probably lies somewhere in the middle.
It's impossible to look at a finished web site and throw out a fair price. No one knows what the designer or the client went through to get the finished product out the door. Fairness requires that the designers real time be taken into consideration.

I couldn't agree more. I would say a few hundred. Nothing less then $500.00 because you have to consider time, text and revisions into this process. Plus, if that is all original work: design, images and content that alone is worth a great deal.

Considering all the flash work that's in that site, I'd go more than $500. You folks must be really under-selling your work to do a site like that for a mere $120 ??? My price for a site of that size with all that flash would not be under $1000 - and, as Seolman pointed out - that's not even knowing how much time went into it.

Haha, my adblock disallowed the flash banner. I was reading everyone's post and there saying flash but I didn't see it.
Yes, 1,000 bucks sounds right.

It does seem like a rather small job.
I wouldnt say too much.
Somewhere around 500 because there are some things that show the designer wasnt that great.
For a start you didnt even get an email for the site.
The email is edstephens@yahoo.com instead of edtephens@thefloribunda.com
And the contact page could have used a email form as well.
And all the pages have extensions.
thefloribunda.com/contact.html
instead of thefloribunda.com/contact/
And the designer didnt make a logo for the site or anything nor did she deign images to use on it.
Its is all html and rather basic.
Although it still looks good i dont think you should pay her over 500
Edit:I didnt notice the flash either. The flash is really good and does deserve a pat on the back.

OH come one, 1000, are you serious? It's a 2 minute flash job and a simple layout. A text transition and a couple of image effects copied a few times is what they hype is about?
I couldn't imagine spending hours and hours of work on this.

i'm judging the website based on how much time it would take for me to complete that specific design, including revisions, edits, etc. however, seeing as there's hardly a design at all, i can't imagine what the initial mock-up looked like before revisions, if there were any revisions at all. if any, they must have been small and could be changed in a few minutes. if i were judging based on the size of the website, flash, and my own level of design, of course i would charge a lot more.
based on my experience with many clients over the years with their price haggling and their general unwillingness to spend, i honestly would not be able to sell anyone that design for $1,000 nor $500. granted i didn't see the flash first time around, perhaps $120 is a bit low, but i wouldn't charge much higher.

I just looked at it for the first time after reading all the post and still did not see or confused the flash for a slow loading site.
Guess the real flash was on the image gallery page.
No comment on the price but I hope it wasn't a lot.

You said 120 dollars. At my hourly rate, that runs out in about 3 hours. Are you saying you could do all that in 3 hours, including revisions?

Same here !
Like I said, you guys/gals are really underselling yourselves - unless you're in a foreign country where $120US is a lot of money !

All html pages have extensions and there's NOTHING wrong with using them. You must be only thinking in terms of php or some such.

There is a logo - 1512 Floriibunda - a logo does not HAVE to be all graphics, some of the best known logos are just WORDS.

I probably wouldn't have used flash at all, though I would have done something a lot cooler, but I doubt I would have taken the project on at all if the budget wasn't at least $1000.

I don't think it would be much more than 3 hours, providing that I have the design. If I had to create the design and the coding, maybe $200 -300?
Now, if we're talking an hourly rate. Why not get your monkey to do the coding for you? He asked for an approximation of "what she did" - not how much or how long she worked.

Let me put it to you guys this way: my end alone for that project was just over $1,300. Work keeps rolling in at that rate, which I don't even think ended up being very high. This does cover some revisions that were made to the design, and if you browse the site, you'll see there is some programming too, but the fact is, they keep coming back to me with more projects, so don't think they feel like they're being ripped off.
Did I mention that I didn't need to do any of the design work?
