Well the title gives a pretty good lead in I think.

I had one artist design me a banner and an advertisement for my site and I liked them. The problem was the text was too hard to see in the banner and some of the text was incorrect in the advertisement.

Now I am having a hard time getting hold of that artist and another went to make the changes for me. When the changes were made there were a couple problems. First the files were about 8 times the size even though they were still JPG. Second, the banner, which looked the correct blue colour on my computer, was this bizarre turquoise colour on Firefox and on Internet Explorer it wouldnt load at all.

Does anyone have any idea what might be happening in photoshop to cause this to happen?

The color problem sounds like he did it in CMYK colorspace. The file size, he probably didn't do a 'save for web', leaving you with the larger, probably 300ppi, file size.

She didnt have any luck with that she came back giving me html files that when I looked at the code referenced the image. I am having someone else take a look at it because its kind of tough for me to explain this when I dont use PS :P. Thats next up on my things to do list when ever I get the time to do it.
