Not bad. But for a portfolio, I guess you should make it more simple but appealing. The headers looks a little over exaggerated for me.

While from a graphic design and artistic standpoint it is very nice, consider that most of your prospective clients (i believe you are trying to sell website design services) are businesses who will want a more simple, corporate looking design. This design may be great though if your possible client is a music artist say, or someone who would benefit from a complicated, very detailed design.

Also I think I would move the boxes on the right, to the right more so they are not overlapping the content area.

thanks to you all, lads
i will take into serious consideration everything you mentioned.

and i will say that, now that some of you mentioned it, it certainly wouldn't really suit for a portfolio design.

wesayitnet, it will be in wordpress (once i finish it) and if it doesn't end up being my portfolio site... well... it will go straight into the portfolio section of my current site: http://juan-i.com.ar

once again, thanks, and keep comments comming please!

EDIT: here's an update on the design http://www.imgcow.com/uploads/940web-colage copy2.jpg

^^

The graphic is beautiful, crisp and clean! The only negative I could see is your name needs to stand out more. For showing clients the type of work you do, I feel both simple and intricate designs should be in your portfolio, that way they have choices, gives them ideas as to what they would like or where to start from.

thanks giselle for the comment, i'll take that into consideration.

found some spare time and used it to change some things on the design. didn't change the graphic part much tho; just worked on the content this time.

i think it looks much better now with this change.
CHECK IT OUT!

I did take a look at the updated version, Juan-i. Wow, looks really awesome and different. I noticed you added free lance web designer then angled the whole logo, well done, really looks nice!

I'm liking it . The only thing I'm not sure about is the header..seems like you've chucked an absolute shed load of images on it when I don't think the instruments are necessary..but overall..very nice

looks fine, but not for a portfolio. Should be for a personal blog. (Por cierto, eso de "masomenos" no habría que separarlo?)

The header is pretty big, but I like the image a lot.
