For some reason my Internet Explorer just shuts down in the middle of doing work. This also happens for other programs like word, excel, and outlook. An error message pops up (IE has encountered a problem) and you have to click ok and restart the program. Does anyone have an idea as to what I could do to stop this?

Do you have enough memory to work with all the opened programs?
And enough space in the C drive?

You can try Cacheman to free memory from the RAM.

If that does not solve your problem, defragment your HD.

I have a lot of space left plus I defragmented the hard drive recently. I could not get to the link you gave me "cacheman" to work. I do believe it is some kind of memory problem even though I have space left.
