One thing that may help with you job search is joining LinkedIn. It gives you a way to make your CV public and to connect with other professionals. Getting recommendations from prople you've worked with will help a great deal as well.

Another really useful thing about it is as a research tool. For example, find profiles of people at a company you will interview for. Read what they say they are working on. If those folks have blogs, give them a visit. I've gone into interviews knowing more about the job than the people interviewing me just from a little research.

In addition, there are quite a few recruiters, and job listings there. I got my current position through it. Just take care and don't accept the first offer you receive.
I guess my last bit of advice is, take your current best skills, and develop them inside and out. Then, do searches for interview questions related to your skills and the job you will apply for.
