I'm about to re-build an existing site (removing frames .. and giving it a more modern look). A template has been purchased, which has javascript & style sheets included. Not currently using a database. Nothing too fancy or sophisticated.

My question is: Is there a good reference somewhere of how to approach this (things to think about before starting a rebuild .. how to organize .. what not to forget) .. or any thoughts or opinions you might have.

It feels a little overwhelming right now and I'd prefer not to screw it up. The site has about 400 HTML files.

Appreciate any pointers.

Wow, 400 HTML pages... this honestly sounds like a job for PHP/MySQL. Once you have the template down, then you just throw the other 300+ pages in your databasse, then call them up through PHP on your template. That is what I would probably do in this situation. That way you only deal with maybe 10-15 pages instead of 400. Phew!

I hope that helped.

It would help .. if I knew squat about PHP .. which I don't. Nor am I familiar with using databases with a Web page. So much to learn, but I appreciate the advice .. tells me what I need to learn next.

Thanks
