I made a change to my banner, which is an inserted picture. I want to change that picture on all my pages. What is the best way to do that withouth having to change each page. Is there a way to globally change a picture or do I name the new picture the old pictures name?

Yeah, just writing over the old photo is your quickest fix. For future reference it's a good idea to use SSI or some other means to call headers / footers and such so that universal changes are simplified.
