I am working on my personal website (redesign) and I am looking for inspiration. I have the design done, but I can't quite figure out how I want to go about adding content and basically how I want to structure the site.

Anyway, what Im looking to find are good examples of personal websites. When I say personal, I mean websites that have emotion... websites that may be about a specific subject, but are full of emotion and feel like a traditional personal website. If it is drupal based, even better.. since that is what I am using.

I dont want to see sites about making money or sites that are just up for advertising. I don't really want to see any portfolio sites unless they go beyond just being a portfolio site.

So, please feel free to share any PERSONAL websites that you have created or find interesting. Im not really concerned with the design, mostly the structure of the site.

Here is mine for reference

Thanks

Sam

Pretty cool site there! I love Arizona man. I once lived in Tuscon AZ and have regretted moving back to Ohio ever since!

Oh... My browser catches this JavaScript error.

Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.

You might want to install Firebug for Firefox to troubleshoot that one.

Cheers!

Hey thanks man... I love it here.. moved from Colorado and Im glad I did! Im gonna be moving down to Tucson end of this month to go to Pima Community College and UofA. Its too much like CO here in Prescott / PV.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up on the error. I had firebug installed before I upgrade to FF3. I guess it was incompatible at that time.. but it will probably be by now huh?

It seems you are using more of a blog approach.

I mean basically you just need to find some of your inner thoughts to make it personal.

I mean ask your self the following questions:
  • What are your favorite colors?
  • What type of content do you like to read about?
  • What do you like to view or take photos of?
Ask your self these questions and a couple other personal ones, and you will find your answers. I mean take the time to figure out what drives you and what makes you excited and what you enjoy. You will come to find out that if you answer these questions and you answer them honestly, that when you start getting traffic they will all be related to you and what you enjoy.

Hello Sam,

Very nice site!

One of my sites has the Western/Native American theme, the other site site has the ocean theme. Every page has a different background with different graphics, the pages are changed periodically because I come up with different ideas or add another page. I do have informational links on both sites pertaining to the theme of the site.

You love Arizona, that would be an idea right there.

Descent site! I was thinking about a personal site myself, but I am still undecided about the structure as well...

Ps: Have you ever though about putting an sql database together to put some of your 'personal' things on the site, such as a card collection as kid, maybe? Something like that I might do.

Thanks for all the comments.... I haven't had much time to work on the site this last week or so... nor will I until next month, but I am starting to piece together some ideas. So again, thanks.
