Hi,

I have been using fireworks for years and can make a fireworks png into a well laid out website in a matter of minutes using lots of little time saving tricks.

I have recently started using photoshop and it takes me far too long to get my sites from psd into a website. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial for developing html from psd's rapidly as this slow down in my work speed is making me cry.

Were you using an export feature in Fireworks for that HTML or were you actually building the structure yourself ?? If you were using the automated feature, then it's no wonder you're having trouble with Photoshop.

My method .. I create selections, save the selections as a channel (so I can change them and re-use them at any time), then copy merged/paste into a new file, do a 'save for web', and put the image into my layout.

How you "slice up" a PSD for a web layout varies by individual, that's my method because I don't like the slice tool. However, I have my html framework in place before I start adding images.
