In order to make them into text links, you have to create CSS tags for these defining the style and class, and this will allow you to make them into text based.

a little advice: extract the text (phone number and the others) from the header picture and put them as text, becouse so google can index them

Not here for business unless you live in houston and need a chimney built. Just here for good advice and some tips which I seem to be getting plenty of. Gog I know what you mean about the grey gradiant, thing is I really want to keep this site very proffesional looking and I played around with alot of different colors in making the site and nothing truly gave me a professional impression like the colors I have now. Everytime I try to implement colors site seems to look a little cheesy to me. That was one of the big things I do not want because alot of other fireplace company websites I have seen here in town just look plain horrible to me and want to seperate myself. Thank you shawn and I will work on that as well. I don't want to remove words from the header but if can make it more seo friendly that will be great. Also thank you much davemies but I would like to work on mine and make it better. Guess just stubborn and want to do it myself now that I have done this much. But I am gonna use some of your ideas.

For a first website it is not bad! You should delete the alexa widget on the bottom of your site in my opinion! What is the use for your customers?

My main - hopefully constructive - criticisms are:

1 The map of Houston with flats in it doesn't really help your site - personally, I would have a visual that tells me at a glance that your site is about fireplace repair and chimney cleaning. It might be an idea to have these visual(s) up at the top.

2 "The Best Fireplace Repair" sounds a bit tacky and non-substantial - everyone claims they are the best. I would try for some form of slogan that tells people WHY you are the best without actually using that word.

I really like the houston picture, why I have it there. Granted may not be a fireplace picture but I think it looks nice and most fireplace companies I have seen have a picture of a fireplace and honestly just looks bad to me. The alexa bar is only there for one reason. It helps alexa keep track of how many visitors I have and therefore increases my rank on alexa which increases my rank with google. I have seen a good increase since I added it. That is the only reason I have it. The best fireplace repair company in houston, although may be tacky it definately helps with my ranking in search engines. Which is also why I have that. If you search fireplace repair houston in google I am number one. So if it helps keep me at the top of the list then I would prefer to keep it, even if it is a bit tacky.

When designing a logo do the following...

what is your company name, then design the logo around the words.

Example: Chimney and Pros...

possibly a chimney and then a person "pro chimney sweeper"

I have learned that it is easier for some websites to be designed after the logo is so you can match the colors and theme easier.
