www.empirecontractor.com

We just finished a redesign and I hate the site ... So do users and we have a "custom" CMS section that was built to maintain and add images and copy to non flash section.

I have the code in Google to do some of the analytic's...

I spent 16K getting this and I want to go back to the design firm and ask for a remake.

Any advice on what platform I should ask it be created in and what CMS is best to be used ?

ARGHHHH ...HELP !!!

I replied to your post in the review section. I can tell you that $16,000 is a very bad price for the website. Please see my other post for more details - I'll post another round of suggestions tomorrow as well - good luck getting your current vendor to pull them off though

I doubt they will remake it in a different "platform". That would require to strip this thing down and basically start over since each existing CMS kind of has their own way of doing templates, database queries, etc.

I think they should fix the issues that are bothering you, but I think a lot of it is still usable.

What are you most unhappy with?
Does the custom CMS not work well?

If it is just a matter of user functionality, then ask them for those issues to be fixed. Possibly get some written feedback from your customers who have complained about the site.

IMO - It is unfortunate they used flash at all since you wanted control with a CMS. Most of what they did could have been done with jQuery or the like.

On a side note, I have built custom kitchens and furniture for 18 years(now I do web design) and your company does very nice work.

Best of luck.
