I have a website www.afterglowmaids.com and I am fairly happy with it, but some things still need to be edited. It is made with Frontpage 2002 and I have the software to use. The problem is when I try to save changes to any page it says the file is marked "Read Only" and won't let me edit. Can anyone tell me what to do about this? I've tried renaming the file but it won't let me. Maybe I am doing it wrong, but I have the Frontpage for Dummies book and I am following the directions it gives for renaming but it isn't working.
Does anyone know of a better way to do this?
The problem is the Testimonial page, which is empty, and therefore, bugging me out a little. I don't feel like an empty testimonial page is beneficial to my business. I want to change the text on the page but it wont let me save the change.(read only) I would even delete the page but I am afraid of screwing something up even worse, besides it would look good if it had something on it.
Also, there is a grayness to some of the text, behind it, so to speak. But this is not bothering me so much as the testimonial page.
Please help!!
Thank you in advance for ant suggestions.

If you locate the file in Windows Explorer.. Right click it and select properties then under the Attributes make sure Read-only isnt checked.. Then you should be able to save to it

While i'm not sure why you can't get read/write access to your site, the reason you can't rename the file is because to do that you would need to write to the file and as you only have read access thats not possible.

Can you upload new files?

If so why not upload a new file with the contents you want, change your links to point to that and then either delete the old file or just leave it there as it won't be used.

Hmm, hiya!

OK, try opening the ACTUAL FRONTPAGE HTML in NOTEPAD, (by right clicking it, and open in notepad)then make your text entries, and save it? That should write to the original file. The "greyness" you see behing some of the text is due to over compression of the graphics when you save, in effect the images are being "pixelated" hence they look a little fuzzy. I kow how hard it is getting started, keep going, your doing great!

cheers, scotia
