First let me say I am a super noob, but I am willing and capable of following directions:

The website our company is building will need a way to add services to a "cart" and then allow the customer to "checkout" without paying anything. Basically we want it to give them an estimate, and submit the "order" to us with their info, but not collect any funds or take their CC #.

That way, when the service is complete they can pay via an e-mail invoice or something similar.

Hopefully I am making sense. So my question is, can I configure a eCommerce shopping cart to do this? Maybe use Google's Checkout? Or ZenCart, CubeCart or osCommerce?

I want this to be as easy as possible, but I understand that the shopping carts are designed to collect funds at the end of the sale.

Please, any information will be greatly appreciated!

Why not get a "Request a Quote" or "Get A Quote" page rather than the shopping cart? You said that you want to give them an estimate. A quote will be the best for it.

I am not sure that is what we want to do. I am seeing what you are saying as being a form that will send us the info and then we will reply back with the estimate. I want them to see an instant estimate after going through the necessary steps of choosing the services and add on's
